Is your slouch making you say ouch? If it is, you could benefit from an ergonomic assessment of your workstation.
Ergonomics, put simply, is the science of fitting a task to the user. A DSE ergonomic assessment looks at a person’s working environment, ensuring it comfortable and well set up for the user.
Having conducted hundreds of workplace assessments over a wide range of industries from offices to engineering plants, I enjoy observing, analysing and applying a practical approach to resolve work-based or work aggravated symptoms. With a knowledge of the biomechanical functions of the body and the effect different stresses can have on it, I am well placed to carry out such assessments.
I have additional qualifications in the field of Ergonomics, and as a registered member of the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Occupational Health and Ergonomics (ACPOHE) I can certify that I have undergone robust training in this area.
Ergonomic DSE assessments are aimed at reducing the risk of injury within the workplace. They also allow employers to meet a required standard of compliance (as set out in the Health and Safety Executive’s DSE regulations). With the recent move to home working, such assessments can help employers to ensure that their employees are well cared for.
